In Between

These photographs reveal meditative scenes within unmarked American landscapes—moments of transcendence discovered in the spaces between destinations. These minimalist vistas emerged unexpectedly during my travels, often mere minutes from fast-food restaurants and gas stations. Through techniques like aerial perspective and telephoto compression, I create images that both ground and elevate the viewer, similar to stargazing—where we experience both our finite presence and connection to something boundlessly vast. The painterly quality of these images invites reconsideration of our everyday surroundings, affirming that profound encounters with beauty and awe require not exotic locations, but sometimes just attentiveness, stillness, and a subtle shift in perspective.
